Corporate Sponsorship Packages for CCT’s 2010-2011 Season

Contributions from our corporate and business partners help us extend our excellent programming to more than 100,000 young people and families through our three programs: CCT Theatre Series produces 8 family-friendly productions each season performed in our very own Theatre, CCT Academy offers year-round classes taught by professional artists and instructors as well as two summer performance companies for ages 10-16 and 17-22, CCT’s Professional Touring Company brings live theatre to schools throughout Ohio performing annually for over 80,000 school children.

Professional theatre reaches audiences in a way that amateur theatre never will. Professional theatre connects and engages the audience and sets high expectations for experiences with the arts. CCT has outstanding artists that serve as role models and mentors for our future artists. It is vital to the future of the arts to provide professional experiences because professional theatre is often the birthplace of the creative class.

Engaging children in all aspects of the arts makes a difference in that child's life. CCT uses adult actors in adult roles and always uses youth actors in youth roles. When a child sees a young person in our professional productions, it becomes more accessible to that child--not only as a story they can relate to, but as an art form which they can consider themselves. Scores of children who have been on stage at CCT now are earning their living through the arts; thousands more have become regular fans and supporters of theatre.

For a nonprofit organization, fiscal responsibility is not only wise policy, it is a public trust. For 47 years CCT has viewed growth conservatively. We constantly employ professionals as contractors enabling CCT to be nimble in addressing opportunities without being saddled with overhead. We budget on average only 28% of our expenses in salaries versus 55% of theatres our size, and we work hard to stay within our means.

We’ve seen exceptional growth in 2009.

In May CCT’s Professional Touring Company ended its busiest touring schedule on record with over 250 touring performances.

The CCT Academy’s enrollment has soared above anything we’ve seen before with. Joelle Leigh Harris, our Education Director, has done an excellent job in developing this program and building partnerships with organizations such as BalletMet and YWCA so we can expand upon our class offerings.

Attendance for our shows continues to be high. Our average audience capacity for the last 9 years has been 73%. In 2008 and 2009 it was 77% and for 2010 it was 85%. This year we sold out 85 of our 159 performances this season. That’s 53%! When we performed The Wizard of Oz in September at the Lincoln Theatre, it was seen by 4,533 theatre patrons. This was CCT’s second highest attended production and only 42 patrons shy from exceeding its record performance in 2002.

Great things are happening at Columbus Children's Theatre, however, we need your help to sustain our programs at their highest level of artistic and educational excellence and to maintain this growth.

The economy has taken a toll on many and Columbus Children's Theatre is no different. In June our funding from the city and state was reduced by 52% and 60%, and in addition we’ve seen significant reductions in contributions from our individual donors. As a result, our budget of more than $830,000 has been reduced by nearly $100,000.

We understand that the dollars you spend have to bring the maximum benefit to your company. Corporate sponsors are offered exclusive benefits and services based on their level of contribution. These packages are carefully structured at each level to provide the maximum visibility and the greatest mutual benefit, but can be tailored to meet the needs of your organization.
